OpenSLO Community Meeting: February 2023

The February meeting reviewed shared terminology, composite SLOs, labels, and website documentation.

Summary

  1. Terminology and composite SLOs: A glossary established common definitions for the composite SLO proposal. Participants discussed weights and agreed that mixing budgeting methods needed explicit treatment. Discussion at 0:14.

  3. Label values: A clarification would allow multiple values per label key and shorthand for a single value. The group discussed matching that behavior in oslo. Discussion at 12:23.

Action Items

  1. Add headings for direct links to glossary entries, then merge the glossary.
  2. Review the composite SLO proposal and clarify its budgeting constraints.
  3. Experiment with label parsing and documentation publication.
  4. Discuss meeting times in Slack to improve attendance across time zones.
